The
Texas Animal Hall of Fame was created to share the joy of the
human-animal bond by recognizing exceptional animals, and we are very
proud to share this remarkable little horse with others. In
the History of the Texas Animal Hall of Fame, "Buttons"
is only the second horse ever to be inducted, the first being a police
horse severely injured in the line of duty. Buttons has earned this
magnificent honor for his untiring efforts as an "agent of healing"
to innumerable emotionally and mentally handicapped children and rehabilitation
and nursing home residents. At just a little over 30 inches tall,
Buttons diminutive size is very misleading as this gentle little horse
has a "heart as big as Texas" and continues to make an incredibly
vital contribution to the lives of so many people.
